Bangin'

So seeing as I'm on holiday and actually have some time on my hands (finally), I have started baking! We moved house a while back and all my baking gear was packed away, but yesterday I rounded it all up and today I baked a bangin cake. 

It was meant to be straight up chocolate, but to make it really nice and moist and rich I added some coffee, and because my house fails and we didn't have vegetable oil, I finished off our canola oil and then found some peanut oil which I decided to use as a substitute. 

I was a little worried about what it would taste like, and it was my first time using our new oven but overall it came out really well... So yummy. And my dad is sick at home so he was happy to get a treat. Topped with ye plain olde chocolate icing and grated MilkyBar flakes!

Now I am going to play Scrabble and eat cake.

I know this blog doesn't have a whole heap of writing but generally I like blogs with pictures and a few words, but too many words and not enough photos, I lose interest.

This photo is by Todd Selby, of The Selby. I love the website/blog, and I really want the latest book. This is one of the latest shots to go up. 

I love the white, its everywhere, its good. The ceiling is amazing and I love the grid windows. But the best... is the floating bed and the railings for the ladder that go all round the room. It looks so nice and cosy up there, and heat does rise so I'd hope it'd be warm. And they probably have a really cool view out that window, I'd love to see the whole space! 

I would so happily go live there. 

Kind of reminds me of this place, which I'd also gladly inhabit (I'd take the Selby one first though).
